today at noon, we get a notice on our doors about a meeting tonight for all juniper residents.
about:
"the heating system, which is gradually failing."
yeah. I was expecting them to give us a wool blanket and a space heater.
nope.
we are all getting kicked out.
all 230 of us have to find a new home in 2.5 days.
and we have to be moved out in exactly one week.
awesome.
I have to say, I have never heard so many stupid questions in my life.
I know I said I was going to be a nicer person, but I just couldn't believe what I was hearing.
after explaining to us about 5 times that
"if we live on campus next semester, we will only have to pay as much as we WERE paying in Juniper",
several people still felt the need to waste everybody's time by asking the question AGAIN & AGAIN.
um, where have you been for the last hour and a half?
"if we're going to come back next semester, do we still have to turn in our keys?"
..................... okay, are you serious?
a girl: "if we choose to move into the other on-campus housing, do I have to live with girls?"
NO(sarcasm), idiot.
this one is my favorite:
this girl was getting really disgruntled and shot her hand up in the air, only to waste my time and ask:
"UM. I JUST NEED TO KNOW, AM I GOING TO BE ABLE TO SLEEP IN JUNIPER TONIGHT? I JUST NEED TO KNOW I HAVE A PLACE TO SLEEP."
are. you. kidding. me.
some people..............
oh. and me and Chelsea couldn't help but make hilarious, sarcastic remarks and laughing the whole time, and the girl sitting in front of me kept on turning around and shushing me.
A) I got homesick for the first time since I moved out. I miss Orem. that place is so good. I miss Ernie's. I miss my car. I miss my sisters. I miss my parents. I miss being able to bake cookies whenever I feel like it. I miss not having to do dishes because my dad loved to do dishes :-) I miss my old job... yeah, I said it. I miss Target. I miss playing Nancy Drew games. I miss my friends. I just miss my home.
B) I feel like a terrible/rude/horrible/mean person.
C) I miss Gabe :(
D) the weather outside is frightful. I don't think I will ever get better from being sick 2 weeks ago. because I walk around outside in the freezing cold all day. I feel like I'm going to develop a wicked tolerance for the cold this winter, though :]
E) our heater is so loud, it wakes me up at night.
F) I'm stressed.
G) my mittens with the finger flaps are falling apart already. now I have to find someone willing to give me a ride to Walmart to exchange them.
some good things:
1- today was easy. I took a nap and I only had to work for an hour.
2- I don't have to go to psych tomorrow.
3- I made some serious prog on my paint-by-numbers :]
4- I watched Survivor.
5- skype :)
6- my rain boots will get here on Monday, hopefully!
7- Alyssass shared her candy corn with me. I love candy corn.
8- my paper chain is getting short :) time is going by fast :)
9- there are more good things than weird things on this list.
I'm not complaining. I have been waiting for it to get cold.
today while I was walking out to parking lot A4, I was looking at my phone and ran right into a low hanging tree limb. it hurt. and I got snow all over my face and my phone.
and then my fingers froze because I forgot gloves.
yay: class got canceled for Friday.
Alyssass, this blog is short, get over it. but here is your shout out:
a life raft. you followed him on a life raft. lololol.
heh.
I went to Walmart tonight also.
here is what I purchased:
-mint chocolate marshmallow hot chocolate -applesauce -mittens with a finger flap for easy finger-tip access -purple thermals...... yeah. -paintbrushes. I only needed one, but they did not sell them like that. -the usual: 2 pints of ben & jerry's... I really shouldn't. -milk. 2% to be exact -and I printed out pictures to put on my wall. it looks real cute with them all up :]
oh. and I also got rain boots via target back home.
CUTE. they were sold out online and there is no Target in my lil' town :( which is such a downer because Target is my fave store.
so, the other night, when I was looking at cute tiny houses,
I was also looking for a cute tiny town to put my tiny house in,
and I thought to myself,
"hmm.. Vermont sounds nice. nobody every talks about Vermont."
so I google mapped Vermont, and I saw a lake.
so I thought to myself,
"hmm.. a lakeside town would be nice!"
so I zoomed in and found a little town called:
Burlington, Vermont.
so it was decided.
I was like, "yes. I will build my tiny house in Burlington, Vermont."
.
.
.
THEN, JUST BARE,
I got home from school, came into my room, grabbed my Ben & Jerry's ice cream that I bought last night at Walmart, and as I was opening it, the words "Vermont's Finest" caught my little eye.
so I thought to myself, "I wonder where in Vermont..."
BURLINGTON, VERMONT.
is that not the biggest coincidence?
because I'm addicted to Ben & Jerry's?!!!
I didn't even know!!! :]
I'm so happy.
now, there is NOTHING that can stop me from living there.
oh. and Grandma and Grandpa Lewis came to visit me :]
they were driving back home from St. George, and they stopped on their way and brought me medicine, saw my cute room, and drove me around town to show me where my Grandma was born/lived until she was 5 years of age :] it was real nice :]
now, I'm going to try to actually get more than 4 hours of sleep tonight!
bye.
p.s. dear you-know-who... sorry this post is so short :] forgive me, alright?
1] didn't even set my alarm. I woke up when I felt like it.
2] I ate breakfast at home instead of at the stupid dining hall :] I had Apple Blasts and a honey wheat bagel with strawberry cream cheese. and milk. yum.
3] I took my sweet time getting ready. no rush.
4] started out for the Cedar City public library. the "Library in the Park". it's in the middle of a park. I love it.
5] walked past the cutest bed & breakfast ever.
6] had a nice, leisurely stroll to the library.
I walked mostly in the shade and talked to my best friend, Melanie the whole way :]
can't wait until Wednesday, when she comes down to visit me :]
7] checked out 9 audiobooks. they barely fit in my cute backpack.
8] walked across the street to Lin's... got 10 dollars in quarters for my laundry, and on the way out..........
FREE KITTENS!!!!! :) :( :) :( :) :( :) :(
I wanted this little guy so bad :( so cute! :)
9] had no issues with doing my laundry today. usually I have some sort of traumatic laundry room experience...
our laundry room looks like a crime scene. and it is.
one time a criminal stole my quarter right outta my hands.
10] all of my clothes are clean. and so are my sheets.
11] paint by numbers. I love this thing.
it's going to take me a long time to finish...
10] Netflix is the greatest. also Pinterest.
11] really great phone call with Gabe :] made my happy :]
12] ate more ice cream. and a popsicle to soothe my sore throat.
13] downloading iOS 5 on my iPhone. yaaaay!
best day ever.
well, maybe not EVER, but it was pretty good.
the only sucky thing about today is this:
my body lied to me. yesterday I thought I was all better, but today my throat is itchy and scratchy. so wonderful.
if I am too sick to do open mic night on Wednesday, I'm going to be VERY upset. VERY.
